Sometimes the track is perfect except for one layer. Stems fix that: the same nasheed, handed to you as its separate voices, to rebalance however the edit demands.
Nasheed stems are the separated layers of a track — lead vocal, backing harmonies, percussion — delivered as individual files. Editors use them to drop the percussion for a quieter scene, keep only the wordless harmonies as a bed, or lift the lead for an intro. In Aswati Studio, stems are a Production Pass feature: pull the layers apart, or use the built-in mixer to render a custom blend without leaving the browser.
What you can pull apart
A typical Aswati track separates into the lead voice (the melody and words), the harmony bed (layered wordless voices underneath), and the percussion (daff and hand rhythm where present). Each stem is a full-length, aligned file — mute one, and the others still lock together perfectly. That single fact turns one track into several: full mix for the montage, harmonies-only under narration, percussion-only for a transition.
Why this matters for halal editing
Stems solve a specifically Muslim editing problem: needing less. A track whose percussion feels too forward for a sombre reminder becomes usable the moment percussion has its own fader. A lyrical piece competing with your voiceover becomes a pure vocal bed when the lead is muted. Rather than hunting for a second track, you dial the one you have down to exactly the restraint the moment needs.
Stems and the in-studio mixer
Production Pass members can toggle stems per track and render a custom mix in the studio itself — choose layers, apply speed or reverb treatments, and download the blend as a WAV.
